Indic Keyboard

Indic Keyboard is a versatile keyboard for Android users who wish to use Indic and Indian languages to type messages, compose emails and generally prefer to use them in addition to English on their phone. You can use this application to type anywhere in your phone that you would normally type in English.

Will my phone support it ?

Indic keyboard supports Android version 4.1 and above (Jellybean, Kitkat and Lollipop). If you can see your language in its native script below you should be able to install and use it.

Some phones may not support all the languages listed since the phone's maker shipped fonts only for some of these languages. Even then, rendering for some of the languages is not perfect on Android

How do I enable it ?

Indic keyboard has a wizard that will walk you through the process of setting it up so that you can use it comfortably.

Why is there a warning about "collecting data"?

This warning message is a part of the Android operating system. It will appears whenever you try to enable a third party keyboard.

What is a keyboard layout ?

Indic keyboard provides multiple "keyboard layouts". This means that you will have different ways to type in your native language.

Transliteration allows you to type out words using English characters, but will automatically transform the words to your native language. For example, if you type "namaste" in English while using Devanagari transliteration keyboard, it will transform it to नमस्ते correctly

Inscript layout is the standardized keyboard that Government of India came up with to cater for the majority of the languages in India. We support the full specification, and if you are already familiar with Inscript on your Desktop, it will work on the phone too.

Phonetic keyboard is similar to Transliteration scheme - you can type what the words sound like using English characters and it will be automatically transformed into your language.

Compact Keyboard allows to type Indian languages without the shift key. You can long press on the letters to get more options.

Tastiera Indic è una tastiera versatile per gli utenti Android che desiderano utilizzare le lingue indiane e indiani per digitare messaggi, comporre e-mail e in generale preferiscono usarli oltre che in inglese sul loro telefono cellulare. È possibile utilizzare questa applicazione per scrivere ovunque nel telefono che normalmente scrivere in inglese.

Sarà il mio telefono sostenerlo?

Tastiera Indic supporta Android versione 4.1 e superiori (Jellybean, Kitkat e Lollipop). Se è possibile vedere la lingua nella sua scrittura nativa sotto si dovrebbe essere in grado di installare e utilizzare.

Alcuni telefoni potrebbero non supportare tutte le lingue elencate dal produttore del telefono cellulare fornito di caratteri solo per alcune di queste lingue. Anche allora, rendering per alcune delle lingue non è perfetto su Android

Tastiera Indic ha un wizard che vi guiderà attraverso il processo di impostazione in modo che si può utilizzare comodamente.

Perché c'è un avviso di "raccolta di dati"?

Questo messaggio di avviso è una parte del sistema operativo Android. Sarà appare ogni volta che si tenta di attivare una tastiera di terze parti.

Che cosa è un layout di tastiera?

Tastiera Indic fornisce più "layout di tastiera". Questo significa che si dovrà diversi modi per digitare nella propria lingua nativa.

La traslitterazione consente di digitare le parole con caratteri inglesi, ma si trasformerà automaticamente le parole nella tua lingua madre. Ad esempio, se si digita "namaste" in inglese mentre si utilizza la tastiera Devanagari traslitterazione, che lo trasformerà per नमस्ते corretto

Il layout Inscript è la tastiera standardizzata che Governo indiano si avvicinò con per soddisfare la maggior parte delle lingue in India. Sosteniamo la scheda tecnica completa, e se si ha già familiarità con il Inscript sul desktop, lavorerà al telefono troppo.

Tastiera fonetica è simile allo schema traslitterazione - è possibile digitare ciò che le parole suonano come utilizzare i caratteri inglesi e si trasformeranno automaticamente nella sua lingua.

Tastiera compatta permette di digitare lingue indiane, senza il tasto Shift. È lungo possibile premere sulle lettere per avere più opzioni.
